The wise can appreciate the Dharma / 현명한 이는 진리를 알 수 있다

지혜로운 사람은

그저 잠시동안 현명한 사람과 사귀더라도

혀가 국 맞을 알듯이

(불법의) 진리를 곧바로 이해하리.

An intelligent man, even though he is associated with a wise man only for a moment, quickly understands the Dharma, just as the tongue knows the taste of soup.

智者須臾間承事賢聖人一一知眞法如舌了衆味 .(65)

자신이 어리석다고 아는 사람은

바로 그 이유 때문에 현명한 사람이(라고 할 수 있)지만,

자기가 현명하다고 여기는 사람은

참으로 어리석은 이라고 불리네.

The fool who knows that he is a fool is for that very reason a wise man;

the fool who thinks that he is wise is called a fool indeed.

愚者自稱愚常知善黠慧愚人自稱智是謂愚中甚 .(63)

One is not one's own / 그대 자신도 자신의 소유물이 아니다

'아들이 있다, 재산이 있다'며

자기가 안전하다고 생각하는 어리석은 이여,

어찌 자신도 자기 것이 아니거늘

아들과 재산이 어떻게 자기 것이 되리.

'I have sons, I have wealth.'

The ignorant amn thus thinks he is secured.

Indeed, he minself is not his own.

How can sons or wealth be his?

有子有財愚惟汲汲我且非我何有子財 .(62)
