All tremble at the rod (punishment).

Life is dear to all.

Comparing others with oneself,

one should neither strike nor cause to strike.

遍於諸方求念心中間察頗有斯等類

不愛己愛彼以己喩彼命是故不害人

몽둥이 앞에서는 모두가 벌벌 떠네.

생명은 누구에게나 소중하네.

다른 사람과 자신을 견주어 본다면

남을 때리거나 때리게 해서는 안 되리. (130)

Not in the sky, nor in mid-ocean, nor in a mountain cave,

is found that place on earth where abiding,

one may escape from (the consequences of) one's evil deed.

非空非海中非隱山石間莫能於此處避免宿惡殃

허공에서도 바다 가운데서도 산 속 동굴 안에서도,

자기의 악업의 결과로부터 벗어날 수 있는 곳은

이 세상 그 어디에서도 찾을 수 없네. (127)

Birth depends on actions/태어남은 행위(業)에 달렸다

Some are reborn as human being,

the wicked are reborn in woeful states,

the righteous go to blissful states,

and those who are free from mental defilement pass away into Nirbana.

有識墮胞胎惡者入地獄行善上昇天無爲得泥洹

일부는 인간으로 다시 태어나고

사악한 사람들은 비참한 상태(지옥)로 다시 태어나며,

덕 있는 사람은 더 없이 행복한 상태(극락)로 가고

정신적 오염에서 자유로운 사람들은

열반으로 끝을 맺(어 다시 태어남이 없)네. (126)
